Payment and Token System

How is payment handled for booking instruments?

For DBT projects, payments are made through BRIC tokens. For Non-DBT projects, prior discussions and payment receipts are required, and the process is finalized after approval.

What are BRIC tokens?

BRIC tokens are a form of payment for DBT projects within the SAHAJ platform. The system tracks and deducts tokens based on the instrument usage.

How can I view my token balance?

Your current token balance is displayed on your dashboard, helping you plan and manage future bookings.

What should I do if I run out of BRIC tokens?

If you run out of tokens, you can’t book any instruments until more tokens are allocated. Contact your institute or the system administrator for token replenishment.

Are there any fees for non-DBT projects?

Yes, non-DBT projects require payments, which are usually arranged through discussions with the Nodal Officer or PI. You may need to upload payment receipts to finalize your booking.

What is the difference between DBT and non-DBT funded projects in terms of payment procedures?

DBT-Funded Projects: Payments for DBT-funded projects are processed using a token-based system called BRIC Tokens, allocated specifically for these projects. Users of DBT-funded projects use these tokens to book equipment without needing direct financial transactions.
Non-DBT-Funded Projects: Non-DBT projects require standard payment methods, such as direct bank transfers or online payment gateways, and require users to upload proof of payment (e.g., a receipt) before their booking can be confirmed.

For DBT-funded projects, how is the payment processed using BRIC Tokens?

For DBT-funded projects, users are provided with a pre-allocated number of BRIC Tokens. When booking equipment, users can select BRIC Tokens as the payment method, which automatically deducts the required number of tokens from their allocated balance once the booking is confirmed.

Does only a non-DBT project require prior discussion with the Nodal Officer, PI, or Technician?

No, both DBT and non-DBT projects may require discussion with the Nodal Officer, PI, or Technician for bookings, especially for equipment that has specific usage guidelines or safety requirements. Non-DBT projects, however, require additional verification for payment processes, which may involve further coordination.

Which documents are required to be uploaded for DBT and non-DBT funded projects?

DBT-Funded Projects: Typically require project approval letters, BRIC Token allocation documentation, and any relevant safety clearance if necessary.
Non-DBT-Funded Projects: Require similar documents as DBT projects, along with proof of payment (e.g., payment receipts) to confirm that financial transactions are complete.

Can I transfer my BRIC tokens to another user?

No, BRIC tokens are non-transferable between users. Each user must manage their own token balance.

How does the BRIC Token system work in DBT projects, and what checks are in place to validate BRIC Token payments?

The BRIC Token system allows DBT-funded users to use pre-allocated tokens as a form of payment. The system automatically deducts tokens upon booking confirmation, and validation checks ensure:

  1. Adequate token balance before booking approval.
  2. Verification of token allocation records with the DBT funding status for authenticity.
