Information and images featured on SAHAJ - “Scientific Infrastructure Access for Harnessing Academia University Research Joint Collaboration” Portal are images obtained from inputs from the iBRIC institutes. The information/images may be reproduced free of charge after obtaining proper permission by mailing us. The reproduction of the information and images is to be acknowledged and reproduced accurately and not used in a derogatory manner or a misleading context.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed following the Indian Laws. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

Prior permission is required to put hyperlinks to Sahaj.gov.in. Permission may be obtained by sending a request to admin-sahaj[at]dbt[dot]nic[dot]in.

3. Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information that we receive when you use our Portal. Information collected through the Portal are:

3.1 Personal Information:

• Registration Data: The Portal collects information regarding the name, email address, institution, and contact details.
• Booking Data: Details of booking the equipment/services, including the equipment/services booked, booking date and time, and duration.
• Payment Information: For processing payments, payment-related information such as transaction details are collected by the Portal.

3.2 Technical Data:

• Log Data: The Portal collects the information that the user browser sends whenever the user visits the Portal. This includes the computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of the Portal that the user visits, the time and date of the visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
• Cookies: The Portal uses cookies to collect information to improve the Portal services. Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are sent to the user's browser from a website and stored on the user's device.

3.3 How the information collected is used:

• Provide and maintain the Portal Services:
• To facilitate equipment booking and provide customer support.
• To process your transactions and send booking confirmations.
• To improve the Portal services:
• To personalize the user experience and to better respond to your individual needs.
• To analyze the usage of the Portal and improve its functionality.
• To Communicate with the user:
• To send you notifications about your bookings, cancellations, and updates.
• To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
• To ensure the security of the Portal:
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and unauthorized access.

3.4 Sharing the collected information:

The data collected will be shared by the Portal amongst the iBRIC institutes as and when required by the Institute. The individual participating institute may share your information with third parties if required with the explicit consent of the user. The Portal may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our services, to provide the services on our behalf, to perform service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our services are used. The information collected may be shared for legal matters if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. Content Contribution Moderation and Approval Policy (CCMAP)

The Portal provides a role-based Content Management System for the (a) users (b) Nodal Officers PI and Technical Personnel of equipment/service of the participating institutions and (c) the administrator of the Portal Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. This CMS helps the website team by providing role-specific access to the administrator panel to different Users for managing the information specifically meant for internal use which will be viewable to all members after the successful login. The roles assigned to various stakeholders are:

4.1 Department of Biotechnology

• The Portal will be owned and managed by DBT.
• Ensuring alignment with DBT's overarching goals and standards.
• Monitoring the Portal's effectiveness in enhancing research infrastructure through the Standard Operating Procedure and User Manual.

4.2 iBRIC Institutes

• Onboarding of equipment/services of the respective institutes on the Portal.
• Management and facilitating the bookings of various users and coordinating for effective utilization of manpower and resources.
• Adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure and User Manual.

4.3 Users of the Portal

• Access to the Portal for booking research facilities.
• Real-time booking services for participating organizations.
• Providing feedback on user experience.
• Adherence to the booking system for facility reservations.
• Utilizing online payment systems where applicable.
• Provide feedback to DBT to ensure that the Portal aligns with their research needs.

The Portal management team will be responsible for the overall quality and quantity of information. The Web Administrator will be responsible for overall supervision to ensure that authentic and updated information is available on the website.

5. Website Security Policy

The Portal requires a security clearance certificate before hosting any website in its data center. The new website has been audited by a Cert-in empanelled auditor and all the vulnerabilities have been fixed. Upon completion, the security clearance certificate of the cert-in empanelled auditor has been received. The Portal contains information that is freely accessible and may be viewed by any visitor. Accumulated data logs will be scheduled for regular deletion. The Website Privacy Policy details our position regarding the use of personal information provided by visitors.

6. Website Monitoring Policy

The Portal has a Website Monitoring Policy in place and is monitored periodically to address and fix the compatibility issues regarding (a) Performance (b) Functionality (c) Broken Links and (d) Feedback from stakeholders.
